It was heartbroken to hear and see so many talented Malaysians left the country for their future: singers, scholars, entrepreneurs and many more.

Every year, a lot of brilliant students are deprived a chance to obtain a scholarship to study overseas. Again, a lot of students could not pursue the course that they like in universities. Students who eagerly want to study are not given a chance; students who merely scraped through the exams are offered scholarships, competitive courses in universities, etc. Has our beloved Malaysia gone haywire?

Once, my friend sighed to me, a country that he has sang “tanah tumpahnya darahku…” for so many years did not offer him the course which he liked. On the other hand, a country which has no kinship with him offered him a course that he chose, together with a full scholarship and yearly allowance. So, tell me, what is happening?

Instead of always looking for external faults, why not change the perspective? Look internally instead. What has gone wrong with all the policies? Find out the fundamentals, find out the roots of each problem. Do not just mending issues at the surface or sweep under the mat. Be brave to face it, admit it and appreciate, recognise the talents that are around who are willingly committing for the better future of Malaysia.

I thought the anti-Jewish sentiment in Malaysia will cease a little when Mahathir step down as the Premier. I was wrong. Seems that there are a lot of “talibans” in Malaysia. How could they not separate sports with politics? For god’s sake, dun try to “pollute” sports with all the dirty politics! It will be a disaster, if Chelsea decided to visit our neighboring country(Singapore or Thailand) instead of us because of this protest. If Chelsea could not make it to Malaysia this time, I doubt Liverpool could. Unless Benayoun got transferred.

From BBC

Malaysian Muslim groups have called for protests when Chelsea football club visits in July because the coach, Avram Grant, and a player are Israeli.

An alliance of 21 Muslim groups is angry the Malaysian authorities have given permission for the Israelis to visit the country with the London club.

Malaysia has no diplomatic relations with Israel, and the Malay Muslim majority is strongly pro-Palestinian.

Malaysian citizens are banned by their government from visiting Israel.

Stadium protest

The Muslim groups said allowing Mr Grant and midfielder Tal Ben Haim into Malaysia for the pre-season match would be “insensitive” to the Palestinian people.

More news from the star on Mahathir’s forum in London. Mahathir complained about the freedom on speech in Imperial College where his forum was limit to the IC students. Hypocrite, isn’t he? He is the one who tried to clamp down opposing views and the media throughout his 22 years of administration. He should be the last person on earth that could say anything about freedom of speech!

LONDON: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was left fuming over a last-minute decision to bar outsiders from attending his talk on war crimes at Imperial College here on Friday.

The former prime minister said he regretted any attempt to block his speech entitled Expose War Crimes: Criminalise War at Imperial College.

Scores of Malaysians and non-Malaysians were left stranded outside the Sir Alexander Flemming building in the college when they were barred from entering the lecture theatre hall where the talk was held.

Security guards stationed near the entrance were seen checking for Imperial College identification cards before allowing them in.

During his speech, Dr Mahathir said he believed that Britain was a country where free speech was upheld.

Seems that our ex-PM is enjoying his time in London. I am just a bit curious how did Malaysiakini produced a report on this event since all recording devides are banned and guests are restricted only to Imperial College Students? Must be an undercover’s job huh?

How could Mahathir be so concerned about Bush, Blair and Howard’s so-called war crime, while he himself haven’t settled his own “crime” in the country. Can’t wait for Anwar to get in power to expose all his wrongdoings throughout the 22 years iron fisted dictatorship.

I am just wondering anyone read this news in the Malay press? I couldn’t find this news in any of the Malay press. This news is headlines in all the Chinese press. Surprisingly, The Star carries this news but i couldn’t find this in NST. You don’t need to rocket science logic to understand this, just look at the shareholders of the papers. The Star by MCA and NST by UMNO.

Yea, they are up to the game again, playing the divide and rule game. Sending different messages to different ethnic groups. The pig incidents in the Malay papers, and the apology over the keris incident in Chinese press. Smart, ain’t they?

KOTA KINABALU: The Pakatan Rakyat is in a position to form the Federal Government and it will be done no later then Malaysia Day on Sept 16, according to Parti Keadilan Rakyat adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Reiterating that the three-party alliance had the numbers and was in no rush to replace Barisan Nasional, the former deputy prime minister said it would all be in the timing of the announcement.

“God willing we will be there. If not next month, the following month, if not June or July, on Merdeka (Aug 31) or Malaysia Day. I think we should not exceed beyond that,” he told reporters on arrival in Sabah on Wednesday.

As to when exactly the announcement will be made, Anwar said that discussions with the Pakatan parties were needed because Umno and Barisan were known to be rough on those intending to move.

From The Star

MANCHESTER: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said he had second thoughts about Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak becoming Prime Minister as Najib had failed to speak up about the real reasons behind Barisan Nasional’s losses in the general election.

The former prime minister claimed that Najib was not “brave enough” to directly say anything that was not liked by his boss.

“We see that he is a penakut (coward). He is always saying, ‘yes sir, yes sir, saya sokong, saya sokong (I support, I support).”

He said, when the prime minister blamed Barisan’s losses on sabotage, Najib merely agreed to it.

Dr Mahathir cited another instance when Najib gave his full support for Malaysia to build a bridge to Singapore despite the republic’s disagreement. But Najib suddenly changed his mind when Abdullah decided against the project, he added.

“I believe he should rightly explain the real reasons for Barisan’s losses in the election,” he said when asked on the reason for his change of mind about Najib after giving a talk on “Malay, Malaysian and Malaysia: Challenges Ahead” at the University of Manchester on Saturday.

Dr Mahathir had earlier this month withdrawn his support for Najib to be prime minister but did not give his reason for doing so.

“I’m not so confident (about him taking over as prime minister). Even so, it all depends on Umno to appoint the person to be prime minister.

Expect more fireworks in the coming parliamentary session end of this month. With Paktakan Rakyat taking slightly more than one third of the parliament seats, DAP 28, PKR 31 and PAS 23, BN really need someone who and shout out loud to lead their Backbenchers Club. Let’s see if he is able to come out with any more stupid comments this time.
